Maybe the best front-of-the-telly snack idea I’ve come across this Christmas: French fries with caviar and crème fraiche dip @bebebob. Which of course makes it spendy for a snack but you could pull the same trick with lumpfish roe. The schnitzel would be a bit more of a hassle to make at home but it was very very good. Add a glass (or two) of champagne and the top notch company of @thaneeprince and you have the perfect Christmas lunch. Thanks @gemmabelleats for making it happen. #guest (Small point, @bebebob, don’t want to seem picky but the traditional buckwheat blini is bitter for a reason and better than those slightly too soft, sweet crepes) *ducks* . . . #caviar #chips #frenchfries #dip #schnitzel #bebebob #londonfoodOne of the best steak tartares I’ve ever had @marmo.restaurant last night and I’ve eaten more than my fair share of steak tartare. Also an utterly dreamy plate of ricotta and cavolo nero agnolotti with pumpkin and sage butter under a billowy cloud of parmesan. (The pasta is always worth ordering but enough for two if you have other dishes so I’d share.) Incredibly talented @ermosug of @sugruesouthdowns. Hard to explain exactly what it tastes like - almost like clotted cream but lush and lemony with incredible acidity. Even better the second day. Like a mature grand cru Chablis.
